Cosa ho voluto che fosse, e cosa ho voluto che non fosse.

MacDisplay è nata con un principio chiaro, che per me viene prima di tutto il resto: i tuoi dati sono tuoi, e devono restare tuoi.

Non raccolgo niente. Non so cosa fai con l'app, non so cosa appare sui tuoi schermi, non registro come, quando o dove la usi. Non perché sia complicato raccogliere quei dati, ma perché ho scelto deliberatamente di non farlo. Il segnale del tuo schermo viaggia solo dentro casa tua o nel tuo ufficio, attraverso il tuo cavo o la tua rete. Mai un server esterno. Mai il cloud. Mai un occhio di troppo.

In un'epoca in cui quasi ogni applicazione che installi vuole sapere tutto di te, ho voluto fare l'opposto. MacDisplay è progettata per sapere di te il meno possibile. Idealmente, niente.

Una cosa che ti chiedo.

MacDisplay non è il prodotto di una grande azienda con un reparto marketing e investitori da soddisfare. È il lavoro di una persona sola, che ha scritto ogni riga di codice, testato ogni connessione, e che continuerà a curarla nel tempo.

Il prezzo che chiedo non serve a costruire un impero. Serve a coprire i costi reali che stanno dietro a un'app fatta bene: gli strumenti di sviluppo, la certificazione Apple, l'infrastruttura, il tempo dedicato al supporto di chi ha bisogno di aiuto, e una remunerazione giusta per un lavoro fatto con cura. Niente di più. È il patto onesto tra chi crea qualcosa di utile e chi sceglie di usarlo.

In cambio, ti chiedo una cosa semplice: rispetta questo lavoro. Usa MacDisplay nei termini con cui te la offro, senza cercare di aggirarla, craccarla o piegarla a usi che non le appartengono. Ogni volta che qualcuno sceglie di sostenere il prodotto in modo onesto, mi dà la possibilità di continuare a migliorarlo — di ascoltare i feedback, accogliere le richieste, aggiungere le funzioni che gli utenti chiedono, e mantenerlo compatibile e affidabile nel tempo.

MacDisplay cresce con chi la usa. I tuoi consigli, le tue segnalazioni, le tue idee non finiscono in un vuoto: finiscono nelle prossime versioni. Questo è il bello di un'app costruita da una persona che ci tiene, invece che da un algoritmo che insegue numeri.

What I wanted it to be — and what I didn't.

MacDisplay was born from one clear principle, which for me comes before everything else: your data is yours, and it must stay yours.

I collect nothing. I don't know what you do with the app, I don't know what appears on your screens, I don't record how, when or where you use it. Not because collecting that data would be hard, but because I deliberately chose not to. Your screen's signal travels only inside your home or your office, through your cable or your network. Never an external server. Never the cloud. Never an extra pair of eyes.

In an age where almost every app you install wants to know everything about you, I wanted to do the opposite. MacDisplay is designed to know as little about you as possible. Ideally, nothing.

One thing I ask of you.

MacDisplay isn't the product of a big company with a marketing department and investors to satisfy. It's the work of one person, who wrote every line of code, tested every connection, and who will keep caring for it over time.

The price I ask isn't there to build an empire. It's there to cover the real costs behind a well-made app: development tools, Apple certification, infrastructure, the time spent supporting those who need help, and fair pay for work done with care. Nothing more. It's the honest pact between someone who creates something useful and someone who chooses to use it.

In return, I ask one simple thing: respect this work. Use MacDisplay on the terms I offer it to you, without trying to bypass it, crack it, or bend it to uses it wasn't made for. Every time someone chooses to support the product honestly, they give me the chance to keep improving it — to listen to feedback, take on requests, add the features users ask for, and keep it compatible and reliable over time.
